150. Isaac Stearns (c. 1590–1671)
Isaac Stearns of Higham, Suffolk was born about 1590. [1] He died on 19 June 1671. [2] He married Mary Barker on 20 May 1622 at Stoke Nayland, the adjacent parish. [2]
151. Mary Barker (say 1600–1677)
Mary was the daughter of John and Margaret (Walter) Barker of Stoke Nayland. [1] She was born say 1600. She died on 23 April 1677. [2]
Isaac and Mary came to New Enbland in 1630 and settled in Watertown. Isaac was a tailor. [2]
Isaac was a freeman on 18 May 1631. He was a selectman in Watertown on 8 November 1647 and 7 November 1670. He was on a committee to design a bridge on 28 December 1647. He was a fence viewr on 13 June 1648. He was a rater in 1652. He was a viewer of land on 3 January 1658/9. The town meeting was held at his house on 8 December 1659. He was constable from 1659 to 1661. He was a surveyor of highways on 12 January 1662/3. [2]
On 23 May 1665 Goodwife Stearns, Sr. and several others were warned for not "attending their seats in the meeting house appointed them by the town." [2]
Isaac made his will on 14 June 1671. He mentioned his wife Mary; the children of his son John; his sons Isaac and Samuel; the children of his deceased daughter Mary; his grandchild Isaac Learned; his daughters Sarah Stone, Elizabeth Manning, Abigail Moarse; his kinsman Charles Stearns. Inventory on his estate amounted to £524 4s. [2]

i. John Stearns was baptised on 20 April 1623 at Higham. [1]
ii. Mary Stearns was baptised on 6 January 1625/6 in Nayland with Wissington. She died before 14 June 1671. She married first Isaac Learned. She married second John Burge.
iii. Anna (Hannah) Stearns was baptised on 5 October 1628 in Nayland with Wissington. She was buried on 17 June 1656. She married Henry, the son of Samuel Freeman, on 25 December 1650 in Watertown. [2] Henry was the son of Samuel and Appiah Freeman. [1] He died on 12 November 1672. He married second Mary Sherman on 27 November 1656. [1]
iv. John Stearns was born say 1630. He died on 5 March 1668 in Billerica. [1] He married first Sarah, the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Mixer of Watertown in 1653. [1] She died on 10 or 18 June 1656. He married second Mary, the daughter of Thomas Lothrop, on 20 November 1656 in Barnstable. [2]
v. Isaac Stearns was born on 6 January 1632/3 in Watertown. He died on 29 August 1676. [1] He married Sarah Beers on 28 June 1660 in Cambridge. [2] Sarah was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Beers. [1] She died on 21 January 1723/4. [1] She married second Sergeant Thomas Wheeler of Concord. [1]
vi. Sarah Stearns was born on 28 October 1653 in Watertown. [1] She died on 4 October 1700. [1] She married Deacon Samuel Stone of Cambridge on 7 June 1655. [1] Samuel was the son of Gregory and Lydia Stone. [1] He died on 27 September 1715, age about 80. He married second Abigail (Carter) (Fowle) Walker, the widow of Samuel Walker. [1]
vii. Samuel Stearns was born on 24 April 1638. [1] He died 3 August 1683. [1] He married Hannah Manning on 1 February 1662/3. [1] Hannah, the daughter of William and Dorothy Manning, was born on 21 June 1642. [1] She died on 26 February 1723/4
vii. Elizabeth Stearns was born say 1641. She died on 24 June 1671 at Billerical. [1] She married Samuel Manning on 13 April 1664 at Watertown. [2] Samuel was the brother of Elizabeth's brother Samuel's wife. [1] He died on 22 February 1710/1. [1] He married second Abiah Wright. [1]
vii. Abigail Stearns was born say 1643. She died on 16 October 1690. She married John Morse on 27 April 1666 in Watertown. [2] John, the son of Joseph and Esther (Pierce) Morse, was born on 28 February 1638/9. He died on 23 July 1702.
